Powerful ultramarine Blue, an intense vibrant Cobalt. It contains the essence of blue, from which you can wander free with black and white, in a direction where passion will take you. Van Gogh was obsessed with the night: everything is done with maniacal perfection and the blue comes alive. “Blue doesn’t exist without yellow” he used to say. Keep this in mind when you have ARLES in your hands.
From the darkness the stars rule and light up the night over the Rhone in Arles. Many are the nights spent by Van Gogh by candlelight, looking for the precision of the sky and the perfect reflections on the river. In the state of contemplation of the beauty of the night sky, two lovers appear, but they are not the main subject of the work, but maybe a means of creating perspective. This painting describes the love for beauty. The work is exhibited at the Orsay Museum in Paris.
Deep blue. Primary. Without purple undertones. Not a dark blue, but with a height of tone that will allow you to have an intense and visible result, starting from level 8 and to use it as a primary color in your color cocktails. Leave on up to 40 minutes and then rinse well, using warm water with high pressure. Do not shampoo. Do not wash in the first 48 hours. The gourmand fragrance based on summer fruits and white flowers will transform your hair in a desirable bouquet.
I love combining it with black. A sprinkle of blue lightens up the deep luster of OLEGNA. However, it is difficult to resist to the natural combination with yellow. ARLES is a sapphire blue, which opens up a world of precious stone reflections. Blue is the color of the night, when it is full of mystery.
Van Gogh's precision in representing the sky on Arles is so maniacal that it allows us to date with the utmost certainty the days in which the Starry Night was painted, thanks to the position of the stars: 26 or 27 September 1888 at 10:30 pm!
